My club wants to sell our very old Wayfarer and replace it with something similar but with less maintenance. The boat will be antifouled and kept on a half tide mooring which is stony.

The users will be all club members who have paid the annual boat fee and are usually families, often with dogs and small children. Use time is April to end of October.

It will be used on the tidal River Dart and rarely in anything more than an F4, mud banks are common, however the ability to reef would be really useful. The ability to row it is essential as we are not intending to use a motor on it and the tide stream can run at 2-3knts springs. It will not be used for racing. It must take on less water after a capsize than a Wayfarer. We are looking at 16+ ft long. We already have a Wanderer and find it too small.

We can go to about £2500 so things like Devon Yawls are out.

What do you think?
