Chris

RS600s are built with the kicker U-bolt fitted before the deck and hull are joined.

If the U-bolt snaps or works loose, then it is necessary to fit a hatch on the vertical buckhead to access the back of the fitting.

A boat with a hatch is not dissadvantaged in any way.

cheers

mine has a hatch as the previous owner has significantly re-enforced the u bolt that holds the kicker etc. Brilliant if you ask me and it means in the summer i can let the hull breathe and dry out

yeh i know tell me about it, i wont be changing it till i have something else however, as i dont know what to get yet, i rally wish i had a semi commited crew so i could get a 2 hander (possibly a cherub!!!) but i dont so im still looking at single handers which isnt a big problem as i prefer them ut wouldnt mind having a go at 2 handers, but atm im trying to possibly save the funds for a 700 or musto skiff, thing is im a bit light for the musto so it looks like the 700 is my aim but i will settle for a good 600, almost got the funds for one.
