just wondered who on the forum went to weymouth at the weekend. I had an immense time breaking a laser 2 and i think that we made it reach terminal velocity before the big bang. how did anyone else get on?!

I know Stu and Andy of cherub fame were planning on going (although you'd probibly already know that ) but I dont know if they made it in the end as they were both lacking crews from the right uni.

Other than that I dont think anyone else has mentioned it.

Heard it was windy? 28knot gusts acording to the moths....

there weren't any cherubs down there unfortunately as that would have been incredible fun. I heard that it was windier than that, the word from the race office was an average of 34knots in the race! I saw someone taking photos on one of the ribs so i am trying to track them down as i'm certain there will be some impressive ones.

cor well that doesn't seem as impressive when you see it written down. It was much more exciting when discussing it in the bar afterwards!

I personally think that the data is incorrect as I'm sure a lot of people will agree with me when i say that it was a steady force 8

Does anyone know if they are going to re-run the event as they only got oone race in, or are the results just going to stand from one single race?

well they seem to have published the single race result as the RESULTS which seems a bit shocking. I guess its a lot of cost for everyone involved because I'm not sure that our union would be too happy to have given us another £350 for another weekend away. fingers crossed though as it was an amazing weekend with the socials and i'd be more than happy to go down there again!

Well I managed to get round in an ever so boring Firefly.  Not too sure about the 34 knots in the race, wasn't that windy! Although I did see a Firefly pitchpole which was pritty impressive

Someone pitchpoled a firefly?

Give that man a medal!! That deserves some serious respect/sarcasm!!

Keeping my fingers crossed too, missed this weekend but would be great if they re-run it, might give us a chance to get the boat along if it's in the new year...

.... Maybe a good thing that I couldn't get the boat to the Nationals, probably would have ended up destroying lots of stuff .
