yes its has. also most foam is missing behind the tongue of glass from about a span wise position of the v towards the tip. photo doesn't show it too well and the photo also masks how much is missing and its faired in, but the curve steepens quite dramatically whereas it should be constant radius.

although i can contrive to capsize at any time the board is mostly under water so a functional repair is fine, but a solid one.

thanks

1)I would use west 404 high density filler with west epoxy to adhere whatever is loose back together with clamps.
2) Use a grinding disk on a dremel and cut a slot front to back in the tip of the foil.
3) Get some solid glassfibre sheet and use an epoxy/404 mix to glue it in place then cut it to rough shape.
4) Fill one side with 404/epoxy.
5) Fill other side.
6) Sand away.
7) Add more epoxy filler mix
8) More sanding.

Repeat untill you have the shape of your foil right.

Thanks v much dan. I was considering v11 as a filler, I take it epoxy +404 is better. Plan was like tom's video, but like your method much more.

To be quite honest, if its not a very bad bash, I sometimes just get ordinary shop araldite out and build it back with that. Its got too much silica in for ordinary filling tasks but for a board tip that you'll probably bash again its awfully convenient.

Epoxy putty is your friend and ideal for this scenario ,

First though you have to adhere loose outer lamination as above ,

Then you need something to stick onto , either a fillet of glass fibre as above , brass panel pins , or as i used last time some ss pins made from left over end of ss welding rod ,

Epoxy putty easily available , comes in a stick like rock with hardner and filler together but not mixed , you break a bit off squeeze it about in your fingers , then put into place and mould with your fingers , it has consistancy of plastacene , very quick and easy ,sets in minutes, when initially first set tiime to give the final quick sand , it then goes on to set absolutely rock hard.

Ive fixed leading edges without oins , tips to wings on my rudders , centreboard  tips , trailing edges , all proved test of time , if you are only filling and not glueing can be done inbetween races !!! Or even on the water as it can be applied to wet surfaces .

Polyester filler will fall out at no faster rate than epoxy filler on a job like this. (ie, when you next plough into the bottom) It even comes in white, and from B&Q.

Still not as good as epoxy putty ! , tis the dogs do dahs and does a lot more , even moulded a wing nut thing (by hand) for outboard motor cap  useable in minutes , epoxy putty can be bought on ebay , even in pound shops for pennies , doesnt fall out when you hit things and use only limited by your imagination .
FAR FAR quicker and easy to use than polyester filler , unless there is a quick set polyester putty Ive not heard of .
you can pay more for it if you like in chandelrys or b and Q .

fills holes underwater too !

I do like the fact that it can be used under water. Some are better than others, though, aren't they? - are the £ shop ones really any good? - I've not tried.

Polyester filler goes off in 15 mins, so not too slow.

yup for this purpose cheap just as good , by experience . beauty of it is because of it being a putty you can mould , coerce into desired shape without  tape moulds etc , doesnt droop whilst setting  etc

I used this stuff intended for surfboards to do mine. Can't remember what it was called, I'll try and find out. It's basically this epoxy type stuff, comes as a green cylinder with a white streak down the middle (like a stick of rock). You slice a bit off, roll the two colours together and then jam it into the damaged area. Hardens and then you just wetsand it down. Really good stuff, I had no issues with it. There's no point in doing a complicated, length repair for something like this because you're likely to do it again. Unless it's your best set of foils that only comes out for the nationals, you're better off with something quick and easy that's going to get you out sailing quickly! :)
