Attaching it to your bicycle doesn't count Simon

Went out today quite gusty but must have been between F4 and F5 Dad was to chicken to put on the trapeze harness so he helmed and I went out on the wire for the first time! (in fact the first time anybody has been on the wire since i got the boat)  Oh my god how much fun we were flying until a capize to windward and the kicker broke pulling it up. and my dad only managed to teabag me once. I must say i was surprised i expected it to be a alot harder than it was especially in the gusty conditions but it seemed ok biggest problem was keeping my legs from shaking from the adrenaline rush, sod's law the only pics were of us capsized!

Yup .. Out in the Vareo in that same breeze ... t'was awsome!

Thats probably thr fastest I have been in the boat since I got it ... I havn't been pushing that hard for the last year or so, but now I know the boat better ... AWWWWSOME!

I'm still giggling from the spray that was kicked up, and the superb thrumming that the boat started making ....

All of that before wiping out in the gybes.

at least you got the kite up with ours only being a little water and the wind in the worst direction for a long(ish)  down wind leg it wasn't worth it by the time you'd got it up and pulling you'd have to drop it as you'd run out of water but was still amazing fun just on the 2 sail reaches especially as me and the old man are pushing it weight wise for a 05 rules spec never mind a 91

Heh ... The lake I sail on is about 500 meters long, and about 200 meters wide .... If I am guessing right.

With various underwater hazards ... ( A treestump for example ) ..

Had the kite up for about 30 seconds at a time, before a failed gybe nearly lead to a swim .. ( Only saved by the lucky fact the mainsheet was cleated, and the boom quite a was quite a way in )

I did the FF open at Dove Stone SC this weekend.  20ish gusting 30-35. and from the right end of the lake too.

Planing downhill (no Spinaker, wer were scared) with the bow wave starting at about 1/3rd of the way back.  Awesome, I did not know a FF could go this fast.

Managed to bend 2 5mm Stainless pins holding the genoa in place, ripped a fitting out of the deck, damaged the kicker and broke the rope holding the genoa to the tension wire though

Billy no mates trophy at Carsington.

Measured 18knots + on the end of the jetty, must have been well over 25knts out on the lake. Windy, gusty and incredibly shifty at the windward mark.

Event dominated by contenders and MPSs (stenhouse won).

You could have had some of our wind with pleasure Mike - more of it than many of us could use.

NB the economist says the cup is too big.  The engineer says - nice to have a safety margin!
