I didn't reply but I'd rather fork out 5% more (or go elsewhere) and change my sig whenever I want - besides, I've got a lot of catch-up to do in the sig area: I still haven't sacrificed to the "let's list the boats I've sailed" type, nor the "this is only my opinion and it's the one I usually refer to when I really want to know what I think" type. And I haven't even thought about images, let alone animated sigs! I've got to write back to Noble Marine with all my apologies and tell him/them I might be able to do that in....... hmmmm......... 2 1/2 years or so

Fair enough - quite a good scheme for the Uni boys. You better do some more posting.

Rick

PS I insure with Noble too ...

Dear Dave,

I have been a member of this forum for a little while now and, although I have posted a few messages, I am very proud to say I haven't contributed to any sailing topics whatsoever (excluding the odd banter). However, I have just expressed a serious view on a "technical thread". Besides, I have plans to buy an old Contender and, lately, I've had the fleeting idea of taking part in races, even Open meetings, heaven forbid! What's happening to me? What shall I do? Do you know any babysitter prepared to work on Weds evenings and Sundays, from April to November?

Many thanks

BnS

Serious issue? are you sure?

Fleet races are good.  It is better to race in a fleet.

You will enjoy the open meetings, being the only bird there ( and a French one) ther will be plenty of guys to rig your boat, and help pack it away for you. For a better response unhitch the boat near the most desperate looking bloke, he will do anything to help. If the most desperate looking bloke is your husband (which is quite probable) then go to the one you fancy the most (not your husband) and ask him, "could you put it up for me please" when he smiles broadly hand him your mast.

baby sitters, I know nothing about them, my wife stays in and looks after our daughter while I go out.
