Yeh burnham area has gone down hill a little the sailing is still the same standard but at Corinthian (the top yacht club in the town - price wise) the oppies got burnt, further up river, our yacht got sabotaged, and a couple of waterfornt houses got trashed, but mostly its a good sport and things dont normaly go wrong on a grand scale.

we can come up with times when things have gone wrong, but these are such small number of occasions compared to thetotal number of times people have left boats/things about.

Last time I coached (29ers) at Leigh and Lowton someone had their wallet, phone, car keys and (as a result) their subaru impreza turbo stolen, I did say in the briefing about looking after your valueables... Also last year I was coaching (Lasers) at Datchet and someone had their brand new Audi TT stolen less than 24 hours after they had bought it ... so please do not leave keys in the changing rooms!

its just unbeliveable. u expect people to respect what is yours. some criminals say that insurance will cover it but then you have no no-claims. its just pethetic the lot of em.
no fear

Make sure your Insurance Company adds the theft to http://www.stolenboats.org.uk

This is usually the best way of ensuring that all the police marine divisions, retailers and the public get to know about thefts.
