GKSS is delighted to host the 29er EuroCup as part of our annual largest fleet-race regatta, with a total of 159 participants within the classes, 29er, 49erFX, IQ Foil U19, ILCA 4, 6 and 7 and Europe class.

25 crews from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland will participate in the sixth 29er EuroCup in the 2024 series. Spring finally came to Gothenburg and many of the crews have enjoyed the fine conditions for an informal pre-regatta tune-up, and for the weekend the weather looks to be around 15 degrees accompanies by weaker winds.

Alongside the racing, GKSS are working closely with the International 29er Class and Sailors for the Sea on local sustainability initiatives. As a Sailors for the Sea 'Clean Class' all class events globally are required to be 'Clean Regattas' and the organisation are working hard on sustainability measures. Special focus is put on minimising waste, eliminating single use plastic, no available bottled water, eco friendly brands, eco-driving of all non sailing vessels, robotic boys for the 29er track and focusing on non-meat protein sources in food.
