There will be two Mirrors on display at the Dinghy Show, demonstrating the construction options available.

On the Class Association stand you will see Mirror 70362, Utter Chaos, a home built mirror using a Trident supplied plywood kit. The boat took 4 months to build on a borrowed Jig from Malcolm Goodwin and was finished with help from Graham Eeles’ paint shop. The total cost of kit, fittings and sails was well under £3,000. Phil Rust who built 70362 will be on hand to discuss how easy it is to build a competitive Mirror

The boat has been sailed by 13 yr old Chris Rust who has won numerous races in the boat and is now a member of the National Junior Squad. The plywood Mirror is continuing to be a popular choice with the top crews with both home build and professionally built boats gaining success during recent years.

On the RYA junior stand there will be a new Trident GRP Mirror, these foam sandwich boats are proving very competitive winning the European and Junior World Championships. Ready to race boats start at £3,500 and offer a winning solution out of the box.

Both boats will be displayed with the optional new Bermuda rig. Following ISAF ratification, this new rig is compatible with existing boats and sails and will simplify the rigging of the boat.

The class will be hosting another Members' Forum at the Show on Saturday 4th March, starting 14:30. This will be the chance to discuss Mirror matters with other members and the committee. With many exciting developments within the class such as the new rig and the Euros there will be much to chat over.

With the UK hosting the 2006 Mirror European Championships there is growing interest in this versatile class, which is very popular with both juniors and parents introducing their children to sailing.
