5-12 November 2016
Sunsail is introducing the first-ever kiteboard flotilla, running from 5-12 November 2016 in the pristine waters of the Abacos, one of the liveliest kiting areas in the Bahamas.
Ocean guide Brock Callen, professional sailor and BEST kiteboarding team member will lead this flotilla where the boat is the movable platform. He promised to find places where the conditions are ideal to catch the best wind.
Callen has been sailing since he was five and developed a passion for kiteboarding twelve years ago. "I've been lucky to do both in some of the most epic venues. But the opportunity to live on the boat and use that as the platform for all the fun is definitely the best. This trip is designed with that concept in mind. To use the Sunsail boats to take us all over the Abacos so we can explore and kite and enjoy our natural surroundings. I want to roll over, have my coffee, and throw my kite in the water to ride before breakfast."
"I want to look through the binoculars and see a deserted beach and take the boat there and then ride in crystal clear Bahamas water. That's what we all want, right? " says Callen.
Itinerary is planned, however, any change is based on weather conditions as this flotilla will go where the wind takes them, literally.
For seven days in the Caribbean, kite boarders can expect to explore the Bahamian paradise. The starting point is at Sunsail's base at Marsh Harbour where you meet follow flotilla members and lead crew for the chart briefing. The next day, the adventure kicks off with some flat water cruising on the northern tip of the island full of large sandy beaches and cays to explore.
Throughout the trip expect to be kiting in a variety of cays such as Guana, Green Turtle to ride the mangroves, No Name, Elbow to ride the Garbanzo's surf break, Scotland and Treasure Cay, one of the 'National Geographic's Top 10 Beaches' before heading back to Sunsail's base.
Of course, dinner and drinks and Macke's or the Abaco Inn can't be missed nor lazy afternoons relaxing on the beach or snorkelling in calm blue sea!
There are three "waves" to get you on the water: charter a bareboat (price from £5,594), a skippered boat (price from £6,647) or hire a cabin on a skippered (price from £2,274). Better be quick, only five Sunsail 444 premier catamarans are available (sleeping up to 10 people each).
Price includes a fully equipped cruising yacht, linen and towels, starter pack*, breakfast on the first morning, snorkelling equipment, dinghy and outboard, cooking gas, water, fuel, yacht cleaning, yacht damage waiver, 24 hour support of the Sunsail lead crew. Flights and transfers can be arranged separately. (*Starter pack only included on cabin bookings.)
