National Redwing Championship at Looe Sailing Club - Day 4

by Paul Sedgbeer 28 Aug 2015 10:46 BST 22-28 August 2015

Tuesday's race was eventually cancelled with heavy rain and low cloud leading to poor visibility across the bay.

After the lay day on Wednesday, Thursday dawned a much better day allowing for two races to take place, catching up with the race schedule.

Race four saw Matt Jaycock and Francis Marshall aboard R226 take an early lead which they never surrendered.

Race five back to back was a different matter with local Redwing supremo Colin Crabb and crew Adam Hayler showing the fleet a clean pair of heals ahead of current series leader in the Looe Sailing Club points series Dave Jackman and John Crabb with Jaycock and Marshall this time relegated to third place. First visiting boat was Mike Stace and Deane Morton from Tenby in sixth place and Keith and Ned Buchanan from Scilly in seventh.

Results after Day 4: (five races, 1 discard)
