More light winds and beautiful sunshine at Lymington required a tow out to the start line and a postponement while the 5 knot breeze settled.
Once again, in conditions to their liking, the Browns produced the best of the day, posting two more first places and a seventh which they currently discard. With the rest of the fleet bouncing up and down the scoreboard, they deservedly sit distant at the top.
Martin Wadhams in Kiss has been the only boat to topple them so far, winning the second race of the day comfortably, but following up with an unforced OCS to create a rather inconsistent day.
Mike McIntyre holds second overall with the Woods in Oink Squeal having their best championship so far with two more top five results and climbing to 3rd overall, four points behind.
Only four points separate 3rd to 6th, so everything is to play for behind the Browns.
More breeze is forecast for Saturday, giving the heavy air specialists a chance to power up. With another three races scheduled out in Christchurch Bay, it looks like being a full-on with up to 20 knots by the afternoon and champagne racing conditions.
Overall after 6 races:
1st, Aeolus, Jono Brown 5pts
2nd, Foudafafa, Mike McIntyre, 23pts
3rd, Oink Squeal, David Wood, 27pts
4th, Legs Eleven, Paul Fisk, 28pts
5th, Storm, Stephen Polly, 29pts
6th, Shades of Grey, James Yearsley, 30pts
