Island Sailing Club Evening Racing Series - Day 5

19 May 2015
47 boats came to the line for race 5 of the Island Sailing Clubs' Evening Race Series. With winds gusting up to 35 knots throughout the day this was a very respectable turnout. Courses were set to the East to clear competitors from the Fairway and also keep them in the more sheltered waters of the Eastern Solent.
Class 1 were the first to finish with James Neville and Jason Hayman in "Ino" taking line honours in just over an hour beating Claire Turner in "Party" by just over 2 minutes on corrected time. The three XODs had a very close race led by Mike Till in "Delight". All finished within 1.25 min of each other. "Brassed off" in Class 4 battled on after having difficulty fighting the tide around Prince Consort Buoy and finally finished out of time.
