Another lovely spring morning for the third Sunday of the RLymYC Portmore Insurance Spring Series keelboat series. With a strong spring tide and a light north easterly wind blowing Race Officer Simon van der Byl and his team set up for three 45 minute races to catch up as the first Sunday's racing had been abandoned as gales swept through the Channel and there had been two challenging races the previous Sunday in strong winds.

Shifty conditions meant lots of tactical questions to be answered for races 3 and 4 with lots of position changes. The RS Elites who went first for Race 5 mostly managed to clear the start line before Folkboat start but when it came to the new Lymington Average Handicap (LAH) fleet's race which was last in the sequence they struggled to get to the start in the light wind and building flood tide and their race was abandoned.

William Newton in Jelly Baby is first overall IRC followed by Emma Gage and Stuart Brand's Ephesian and Oliver Dunford's Purple Haze. Ray Mitchell's Conspiracy leads LAH with Graham Broomfield's Headstrong second and Oliver Dunne's Minim III third. Martin Wadham's Kiss is well ahead in the RS Elites with Jonathan Proctor's Wombat second and Mike Rapson's ETU third. Chris Hills in Padfoot leads Richard Martin's Second Wind in the Folkboats.
