Bough Beech Sailing Club Icicle Series - Overall

The annual open Icicle handicap series held over eight weeks of January and February each year, attracted 90 entrants this year. Sixteen races were sailed. Each Sunday saw an average of 50 plus competitors.

Conditions varied from still drifting to lively with force 6 to 7 gusts. Two fleets compete over two courses, the Asymmetrics on a windward/ leeward course and the traditional fleet on a course including reaching legs.

Nine different classes turned out for the Asymmetric series with RS200s taking first five places. Twenty-one classes entered the conventional series, Scorpions taking the top two places followed by a Wayfarer, Solo and Europe.

Next year the Icicle will consist of nine race Sundays in January and February.
