2014 Optimist World Championship at Club Náutico San Isidro - Overall

It was a beautiful night to celebrate the end of this Opti Worlds at Nautico San Isidro Club. More than 600 people met at the prize giving of this successful Argentinian Optimist World Championship.

The authorities present were; Prefectura Naval Argentina, Consejo Deliberante de San Isidro President, Federación Argentina de Yachting President, International Optimist Dinghy Asociation President, Asociación de Optimist Argentina President and Club Náutico San Isidro President. They celebrated this prize giving where the new champion, Swiss sailor Nicolaz Rolaz was crowned World Champion after competing against 214 competitors from 51 countries all around the world.

Voravong Rachrattanaruk from Thailand had a remarkable performance finishing in second place ahead of the Greek sailor Dimitris Papadimitriou who took third on the podium with an outstanding performance.

The Women's first place was won by the Spanish Opti Sailor Aina Colom who collected her prize with the public recognition. Second in the girls was Emma Kaneti from USA followed by Slovenian girl, Mara Turin.

It was a night full of emotions, with great organisation provided by Nautico San Isidro Club who, through the authorities words, thanked the Argentinian and International sailors and all the supporting Yacht Clubs.

The Argentinian Team, proud for all their work, handed the IODA Flag to the Polish Delegation who will organise the next Optimist World Championship in 2015.

Fireworks, music and lot of enthusiasm gave an end to this Optimist World Championship Argentina 2014.
