New Company Launches to Provide Professional Recruitment and Management Services for Cat 3 Professional Sailors

Cat 3 Resources Ltd (C3R) is the first company of its type to provide professional and recruitment services to Cat 3 sailors and other professionals involved in the race boat industry. C3R's rapidly growing database of world class sailors includes Olympians, current America's Cup and Volvo Ocean Race sailors and is free to sign up to.

C3R has been formed by James Ward and Pete Cumming to address a need in the marine industry for a more regulated approach to the recruitment of sailors and associated race boat professionals.

James Ward has more than a decade of recruitment experience, having established market leading marine recruitment company Marine Resources in 2003, while Pete Cumming brings a wealth of knowledge and contacts from the race boat industry, having worked as professional racing sailor for the past 12 years.

C3R is based on a recruitment / sports agency model, acting as a single point of contact for all parties, broadening employment opportunities for sailors while ensuring clients have access to the best, most highly accomplished athletes and support staff in the industry. All placements will be contracted through C3R, giving each party formal clarity regarding financial commitments and last minute changes or cancellations.

In the first few months C3R has already helped place trimmers and tacticians at both Cowes Week and the Copa Del Rey, provided co. skippers to the Artemis Offshore Academy for their corporate commitments, recruited an America's Cup sailor and Olympic Race Officer for a corporate event on the Solent, provided media support during a high profile international sailing event, supplied short term shore support to Alex Thompson Racing and placed a new helm on an Extreme 40 for the Extreme Sailing Series.

At the same time they have also managed to put together their own C3R Race Team, lead by Pete, representing the company at events including the GC32 Austria Cup on Lake Traunsee, Austria.

Whether you are looking for a professional sailor to join your private yacht or professional race team, or a business looking for a driven athlete as a motivational speaker or sailing day guest, C3R will listen to your needs and provide you with profile sheets of the most appropriate candidates. Each sailor will be available to work during the dates you have requested, for the budget you have allocated, and will be contracted appropriately through C3R.

All registered C3R sailors' details will be stored on a central database, from which the most suitable person will be selected each time a professional sailing position becomes available. As a C3R sailor you are able to register your skills, experience, location, availability and required rate of pay, therefore widening your earning opportunities by being visible through the C3R network.

C3R will also offer sailors preferred rates on relevant professional services, including accountancy, insurance, travel and accommodation, legal and contractual.
