The Welsh Yachting Association are searching for the next generation of paralympic sailors, to follow in the footsteps of world champion Stephen Thomas.
Anyone with a disability is invited to take part in a Paralympic Sailing Taster Day in Cardiff next month, at Channel View on the River Taff on August 20th and 21st.
Athletes from all other disability sports have been invited to give sailing a go – anyone who makes it through to the highest level could join Thomas in competing around the world and at the Rio Paralympics or beyond.
"This is a chance for individuals of all disabilities to have a go at sailing on the capital's water," explained Sean Evans, the Welsh Yachting Association's club and pathway officer.
"With a range of boats available the event will be able to cope with all abilities and confidence levels.
"The event will also be supported by Welsh coaches and staff members both on and off the water. The Thursday afternoon will be used to run a mini regatta for those that wish to have a go at some racing.
"The event will start at 10.00 am and finish at 18.00 on both days. This is a great opportunity for all that will take it up."
