GP14 Open at Trimpley Sailing Club

The winds in the Severn Valley for the Trimpley SC GP14 Open meeting as part of the Midland Bell series on the 5th June 2005 were particularly fickle and created some frustrating moments for the 3 visitors and 8 home club sailors alike.
Carl Jeffs with Crew Jim Toothill sailing on his home waters won in convincing style even using an old borrowed boat showing you can't blame the wind for everything. Phil Quarry (Trimpley) with Dave Just as crew sailed to consistent 2nd place in each race, but John Solomon ( South Staffs SC) crewed by Trimpley Laser Captain, John Cookson stole second place overall with a win in the third race.

GP14 Midland Champs at South Staffordshire Sailing Club - 07 Sep 201034 GP’s contested the Harken sponsored GP14 Midland Area Championships at South Staffs Sailing Club over 4th and 5th September. 16 visitors and 18 South Staffs boats completed a 6 race series with 5 races to count.
Newtownards Sailing Club hosted this year’s GP 14 Championship of Ireland. The event was sponsored by Ards Tourism and attracted 46 boats from throughout Ireland and Great Britain.
Last week, the GP14 National Championships were held in Abersoch, Wales. The 15 boats representing South Staffs Sailing club (SSSC) put in a fantastic performance out of the 60 boat fleet.
Irish GP14 Youth Championships at Sligo Yacht Club - 11 Aug 2010The GP14 Youth Championship 2010 was held at Sligo Yacht Club on Saturday 24th & 25th July in fresh Force 3 to 4 westerly winds with young sailors from six different clubs vying for honours.
Congratulations to Ian Dobson and Andy Tunnicliffe who have won the 2010 GP14 National Championship at Abersoch.
