With a decent breeze forecast, 4 visitors joined the 3 home boats in a closely fought event.
Race 1 - Hawley took an early lead, but this was short lived at Pakes passed him and then Gibson, these three battled for a while but the finishing order stayed as that. Just behind Casewell, Everett and Hinde battled hard but only for Hinde to take 4th place.
Between races helms were well fed on soup, baguette and trifle thanks to the hard working club volunteers.
Race 2 - With the home boats of Hinde and Hawley being too early Gibson, Pakes and Casewell got away. However with a changing breeze Jones and Everett closed the gap with Hinde and Hawley recovering to get into a good position. The westerly breeze saw Gibson, Pakes and Casewell stretch their lead followed by Hawley and Hinde, all finishing in that order.
Race 3 - Hawley got away to the best start closely followed by Gibson. Gibson and Pakes managed to pass by lap 2. Hawley and Pakes changed places a few times and whilst they closed the gap were unable to catch Gibson. With Hinde retiring Casewell took full advantage and passed Everett.
