Twenty boats turned out at Hampton on what was to be a well contested series of races, despite the light northerly wind which was to feature throughout the day. The start of the first race was postponed for 30 minutes in the hope that some wind would be forthcoming, fortunately a light breeze did spring up and racing could get underway.

Race one was to be led from start to finish by Mike Stephens crewed by Jennie King from Tamesis, ( winners of the vintage meeting on the preceding day) chased all the way by David Vines also from Tamesis crewed by Fran Gifford. Third spot going to Richard Parsloe and Simon Girven from Hampton.

The second race was to follow a similar pattern with Mike Stephens being followed home by David Vines, although this time it was to be Duncan Salmon from Wembley crewed by Ian Garwood who was to take the third spot.

Mike was not to contest the final race and this let David Vines lead home Duncan Salmon with third place going this time to Martin Hunter crewed by Kasia from Upper Thames.

Overall Results:

1st 1097, Mike Stephens & Jennie King (Tamesis Sailing Club)
2nd 3347, David Vines & Fran Gifford (Tamesis Sailing Club)
3rd 3702, Duncan Salmon & Ian Garwood (Wembley Sailing Club)
4th 107, Martin Hunter & Kasia (Upper Thames Sailing)
