Loch Earn Sailing Club hosted the Tasar Scottish Championships over the weekend of the 2nd/3rd September. Len Patterson was the race officer for the weekend, combining the Championships with the clubs RNLI fundraising regatta.

12 Tasars were greeted with a very light Easterley for race 1, Tim and Mayumi Knight 363 led from the first mark, establishing a clear lead to take first place over Colin and Calum Tait 2803 in second, and Graham and Kim Donaldson 2630 in third. The wind was more steady for race 2 with Colin and Calum leading from Tim and Mayumi for two laps, before falling into a light patch on the North shore allowing Tim and Mayumi to record their second win, with Colin and Calum 2nd, and Charles Harris and Jordan Black 2523 in 3rd.

Race 3 was sailed in a Westerley force 2, and again Tim and Colin battled it out all the way round with places changing several times. The finish couldn't have been closer with Colin and Calum being pipped on the line by one second, giving Tim his 3rd win and the Championship. Sean and Mandy Tait sailed a brilliant race giving Tim and Colin a scare up the first beat, and held on well to finish 3rd.

Race 4 was sailed in a westerley force 2-3 with Neil and Rachel Beveridge 1266 sailing well to round the first mark in 1st place. Tim and Colin pulled through on the reach with Tim holding on to make it a clean sweep with Colin 2nd, and Cameron and Aaron Murray sailing an excellent race finishing 3rd. Graham and Kim just pipped Sean and Mandy on the finish line to take 4th place and 3rd in the overall positions on countback.
