A charity junior sailing race, The Matt Trophy 2018, is being held again this year at the Thames Estuary Yacht Club on the 22nd September. The Matt Trophy is an excellent race for beginners as well as experienced sailors.

There are 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies to be presented on the day and the race is free to enter. It is a race in remembrance of Matthew Dear who tragically died young, and we hope that anyone who enters the race will go to our website and learn about the dangers of steroids and APEDs and be able to make an informed opinion.

The club at Southend-on-Sea, Essex, has excellent facilities including a glass fronted viewing area of the estuary with seating, great food and a well stocked bar. The race is being sponsored by Summercare.
