The UK Fireball Association is delighted to announce that venues and dates have been agreed for both the 2019 and 2020 National Championships.
In 2019, the championship, sponsored by Gul, will be hosted by Royal Torbay YC. In a departure from recent practice, the event will be an eight-race series held over the Spring bank holiday period of 25th-28th May. As well as varying the norm, this will mean that UK crews wishing to attend the World Championship in Canada in late August 2019 will be able to sail their boats in the Nationals before shipping them across the North Atlantic.
Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy will host the 2020 Nationals at a slightly earlier than usual date of 25th-31st July. On this occasion, the traditional 10-race event has been brought slightly forward to allow UK crews the opportunity to practice before the World Championship scheduled to be held in Ireland a few weeks later.
