Stand G42, 3-4 February 2018
As the leading British manufacturer of rope and official supplier to the British Sailing Team, Marlow Ropes are very much at home in the dinghy world, and are looking forward to another year of high performance leisure marine action at the RYA Dinghy Show (03-04 March, Alexandra Palace, London) stand G42.
Leisure Marine Sales Director, Paul Honess comments: "Marlow have been involved with the RYA Dinghy Show for the last 15 years. It's a great event for us as the official rope suppliers to the British Sailing Team and we enjoy the opportunity to meet both professional and amateur dinghy sailors. This year, we are doing even more to educate sailors on why rope matters, and as the leading UK manufacturers of high performance rope we are in the best position to do this."
VR Hub & The Marlow Academy
This year, the Marlow ropes team will be pulling out all the stops with an interactive stand where sailors of all types can immerse themselves in dinghy sailing; this includes a VR (virtual reality) hub where visitors can sail fast with the British Sailing Team or experience sailing offshore in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Splicing workshops will take place throughout the weekend with the Marlow Academy; all visitors can learn to splice with Marlow's rope experts and members of the British Sailing Team whilst learning about rope care and inspection and understanding how choosing the best lines can enhance performance.
The Big Dinghy Draw
Visitors will also have the chance to win a big bundle of Marlow goodies in the 'Big Dinghy Prize Draw' including a British Sailing Team jacket, dinghy rope mini-spools, a copy of the new splicing guide, branded neck buffs, signed Land Rover BAR and British Sailing Team posters and much more. Entrants must fill in a Prize Draw postcard at stand G42 to be in with a chance to win. A winner will be selected at the end of the Show.
Meet the British Sailing Team Champions
A visit to Marlow's stand throughout the weekend will guarantee an opportunity to meet with members of the British Sailing Team which includes 49er World Champions Dylan Fletcher-Scott and Stuart Bithell, in addition to Junior European 49er Champions Morgan Peach and Rhos Hawes who won the Marlow P3 Award earlier this year.
View the New Excel R8 Dinghy Rope
Known for their commitment to innovation and reputation for quality, this year Marlow's newest dinghy line, the Excel R8, will be introduced at the show along with their new Dyneema Shockcord. The Excel R8 is a 12 strand rope made with Dyneema SK78 and has a colour-matched core with an 8 plait Technora and polyester blended cover. The new line has been well received already, used by various members of the BST and provides outstanding durability whether used as a halyard working on cleats or as a sheet performing well in ratchet blocks.
