If you want to learn more about foiling then make sure you head to the RYA Dinghy Show, presented by Suzuki, in association with Yachts & Yachting and Gill (03-04 March, Alexandra Palace, London).
Foiling in is a hot topic at the moment so with that in mind this years' show has lots of foiling fun lined up.
Head to the Suzuki Main Stage at 12.00pm (Saturday and Sunday) where we will be joined by Alan Hillman for 'Future Foiling'. From Extreme 40 World Championships and Barcelona World Race, to Laser 4000 and SB20 National Champion, Alan has done it all. Most recently he has been instrumental in the introduction of the F101 foiling trimaran, aimed at sailors who thought foiling was too difficult for them and helping to break down those barriers and change the face of foiling. Alan will be giving us the low down on all the latest developments in foiling, how to get started and giving us a sneak peek at to what's coming next!
Straight after Alan's talk on the Suzuki Main Stage (Saturday only), Amanda Van Santen, RYA Chief Instructor Dinghy & Windsurfing, will be joining us to officially launch the RYA's exciting new foiling courses.
Amanda will be giving visitors the low down on three exciting new foiling courses for both the RYA's Sailing and Windsurfing schemes. The courses will help sailors progress from their very first steps to being able to proficiently hold flight and undertake manoeuvres.
So if foiling is on your 'things to learn in 2018' list, then don't miss Amanda and Alan on the main stage.
And it doesn't end there.
To tie in with the launch of the new RYA Foiling courses we're giving you the chance to win a Gold Glide Free Foil, courtesy of Glide Free Foils worth £3,000.
To take part, head to the Foiling Kit stand (G4) in the West Hall at the show, complete the entry form, pop it in the box and you'll be entered in to the prize draw. It's as simple as that! Competition closes on 30 April 2018, with the winner announced shortly after.
The show is also the perfect place to check out the latest dinghies and as would be expected there are plenty of foiling ones on display at the show:
- Whisper Class Association – stand C37
- F101 Class Association – stand B38
- Flying Mantis (ISBF) – stand C86
