Matt Allen and his Ichi Ban team, recent overall winners of the Rolex Sydney Hobart continued their winning streak to take the Australian Yachting Championship on both IRC and ORCi at the Sandringham Yacht Club in Melbourne yesterday.

Geoff Boettcher's South Australian boat, Secret Men's Business finished second on IRC with Tony Kirby's Patrice third on IRC and second on ORCi, and Jason Ward's Concubine third in the ORCi division.

Local Hobson's Bay Yacht Club competitors, Ikon dominated Division 2 IRC and Tasmanian entrants Philosopher took the win in Division 3 IRC. The Philospher team, who are all younger than 25 aside from the owner are all looking forward to defending their title on home waters in 2019.

I was on the start boat over the three days of racing, another fantastic opportunity to work with the Wilsons who are some of the best PRO's in the business.

You can re-live all the action of the eight race starts below as well as a live interview with Matt Allen dockside after Ichi Ban claimed their eight from eight races, now ninth in a row. I am looking forward to racing with the Ichi Ban team for the 175th Festival of Sails Passage Race on Australia Day this coming Friday.

Many thanks to Australian Sailing and Sandringham Yacht Club for having me over the course of the event, and Pantaenius Sail and Motor Yacht Insurance for their support of my coverage.
