The Peter Andreae Trophy is sailed by juniors (under 21) for cash prizes, in Lymington River Scows kindly loaned by the club's Wednesday Junior Sailing scheme.
As the wind was gusting to 40 kts with an average wind speed of 28 kts Race Officer Stuart Jardine prudently postponed this year's event from the 27th December and ran it after the Penguin Trophy on the 28th.
The course in the river in front of the Club house provided great spectating and a number of challenges for the sailors in the light and shifty wind.
Places changed frequently as boats got the wrong side of a wind shift or caught on a mark as the tide raced out of the river.
After two tricky laps the winners were Cameron Bignold-Kyles & Lola Mordaunt, who went home with an envelope of shiny coins and the Peter Andreae Trophy. Second were Emma & Alex Breese, third Ollie Tait & Alice Wood and fourth Hannah Froud & Sienna Mordaunt.
