While at Sail Melbourne over this past weekend there were a few opportunities to chat about the America's Cup with one behind the scenes of Bermuda forum with Chief Umpire Richard Slater and Jason Waterhouse who was with SoftBank Team Japan, as well as the chance to chat to Tom Slingsby (formerly with OTUSA) about Australia's progress in becoming involved with the next Cup.

You can check out the videos below, and I look forward to following the adventures leading into the next AC.

Behind the scenes of the America's Cup

The live broadcast from the Royal Brighton Yacht Club as part of Sail Melbourne for a “Behind the Scenes of the 35th America's Cup" with Chief Umpire Richard Slater and AC sailor Jason Waterhouse. Yes I asked him about Race 12 in Round Robin 1!

Finn vs Laser vs AC

I took the opportunity yesterday at Sail Melbourne to catch up with Tom Burton, Gold medalist in the Laser at Rio 2016 and winner of the Laser class, Jake Lilley, Olympic rep for Australia in the Finn, winner here at Sail Melbourne and part of Artemis Racing, and Tom Slingsby, Gold medalist in London 2012 in the Laser, second in the Finn at Sail Melbourne and Sailing Manager for Oracle Team USA.

We chatted about the Finn versus the Laser, Tokyo 2020 for the Australian Sailing Team and where we are at with getting an Australian AC team off the ground...
