The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club Snow Globe

The final day of the Snow Globe series saw 14 entrants taking part on a very mild and still December day. With the top 3 places very close, it was all to play for. The course set was a small triangle in front of the club with the first race having two laps, the 2nd race having 3 and the final race 4 laps of a larger triangle.

The first race saw a very close start, but Arthur Brown (RB) edged in front after the first mark and managed to hold his lead for the rest of the race meaning he easily won on handicap. The second race had another close start and the race was decided by the wind shifts. Jonny Beale luckily picked the right side and managed to do enough to get a win, only 40 seconds ahead of Malcolm Hutchings!!

Colette Bacon was in an RS200 with Sophie Dawson and helmed the first two races. She handed over the helm to Sophie for the final race, but Sophie clearly wasn't keen on this so decided to fall out of the boat!! The wind seemed to die for the final race and this and a great start saw Jo Tribe win easily on corrected time.

With these results the top 3 for the series were - 1st Arthur Brown (10pts), 2nd Jonny Beale (15.5pts) and 3rd Malcolm Hutchings (20pts).

Thank you to the Race Committee and rescue crew for their help in putting the series on and to Carl Anderson for organising it.
