36th Student Yachting World Cup at La Rochelle - Preview

The 36th edition of the Student Yachting World Cup will gather almost 100 students from all over the world in La Rochelle (France) from November 2nd to November 7th.

Crews from 8 different countries are going to compete for the SYWoC trophy during a whole week of regattas, defying last year winner from EPFL (Switzerland).

This year, the organization team wants to bring a few innovations to the event. All races are to be followed by GPS tracking and the 36th edition's competitors will enjoy a new cashless payment system proposed by PayInTech.

Sun shining for the first 4 races The sun was up and shining for the first day of competition. The crews could not have hoped for a better start. Four more races held at Le Pouliguen The weather is still nice at Le Pouliguen on Saturday with the sun shining. The E-NE wind was a bit stronger than on Friday, around 12 knots with gusts up to 17 knots. Today, the teams took part in four races; three inshore and one coastal.
