The lucky winner of the YachtandYachting.com Exposure Lights RAW Pro Headdtorch prize draw, is Mary Rook (30), an up-and-coming single-handed sailor from Southampton. Selected for the Artemis Offshore Academy last year, Mary has just completed the epic 2000 mile La Solitaire Bompard Le Figaro Race.

Having previously campaigned for the British Olympic Sailing Team, Mary only recently made the switch to solo offshore sailing. She is the third British female sailor to complete the arduous Figaro Solitaire.

Mary's highly entertaining blog captures the gruelling nature, and emotional highs and low of this highly competitive race, frequently cross-tacking at close quarters through the night in huge seas. After the race, Mary commented "The extremes of emotion and mental and physical exhaustion are unbelievable and something very few other sports can test in such a relentless way. I wish I had the knowledge I have now, going in to the race but there is just so much to learn."

Mary adds "I am very happy to have won the Exposure RAW Pro Head torch competition, and am impressed with its design. It is really easy to use with the one button function. The angle of the torch and the headband is easily adjusted but is really strong. It's also really great that you can charge it with a USB so this can be done on my boat or in the car. It's easily the best head torch I've ever owned."

Mary, who coaches sailing between events, has her sights set on getting onto a Volvo Ocean Race team. She plans to do everything she can to improve her chances of selection and is looking for sponsors for her next campaign. She'll certainly be able to see the competition better at night with her new RAW Pro head torch.

About the Exposure RAW Pro Head torch

The RAW Pro has an extremely powerful, glare-free 50 lumens red beam. An easy, single click switches to the bright 200 lumens white beam. It burns for 25 hours in red optimised night vision mode and between one and ten hours in white mode. An integral strobe light can be activated for emergencies, lasting up to five hours.

It is fully waterproof and rated IPX6 to two metres. Housed in a lightweight aerospace aluminium casing with marine grade anodising it is 5 metre shock proof. Fully tested on the Volvo Ocean Race, it is built to last in the World's toughest environment, and comes with a lifetime guarantee on its LED's, a 10 year warranty on waterproof seals, two year parts guarantee, and its first 2 year service completely free of charge.

Supplied with a washable, squashable headband, the RAW Pro is very comfortable to wear and the beam angle can be adjusted whilst working via a handy swivel clip. The light can be unclipped when required, to use as an inspection light and is rechargeable on board by USB.
