Meet the six America’s Cup teams competing in Portsmouth

Visit the Race Village and watch the best sailors reaching high speeds on their state-of-the-art foiling boats. Offering entertainment for all the family including BMW Blokart land yachts, the BT 100% TechZone, BMX displays, Air shows, marine markets, quality food outlets and the coolest bars. Race Village ticket holders can listen to expert insight from the sailing teams during the daily live Dock-out and Dock-in shows on the Main Stage.

Latest series standings

LAND ROVER BAR The British team was launched in 2014 by four times Olympic gold medallist and 34th America’s Cup winner, Sir Ben Ainslie, with the long-term aim of bringing the America’s Cup back home to where it all began in 1851.

ORACLE TEAM USA The defending champions of the America’s Cup, after winning the last two editions in 2010 & 2013. Skipper Jimmy Spithill led his team to a remarkable comeback win over Emirates Team New Zealand in the 2013 Cup. Down 8-1, and facing match point, they won the last 8 races to win the 34th America’s Cup 9-8.

ARTEMIS RACING The Swedish entry is full of top Olympic champions incl Team Manager Iain Percy (2x gold medals) and helmsman Nathan Outteridge (1 x gold). This is their 2nd challenge for the America’s Cup and the team has re-calibrated its design and sailing team in line with the challenges posed by the new class and venue

GROUPAMA TEAM FRANCE The French challenge is led by three of the most iconic and successful French sailors: Franck Cammas, Michel Desjoyeaux and Olivier de Kersauson. Team France represents Paris based Yacht Club de France.

EMIRATES TEAM NEW ZEALAND Two times winner of the America’s Cup (1995 and 2000), they have proven to be a leading innovator in sailing, including developing and bringing foiling into the America’s Cup. They came within one win of taking the America’s Cup home in 2013 finishing on the wrong side of one of the greatest comebacks in all of sport.

SOFTBANK TEAM JAPAN As the first Japanese flagged challenger since 2000, SoftBank Team Japan seeks to make history by becoming the first Japanese team to win the America's Cup. They are led by America's Cup legend Dean Barker with veteran Japanese sailor Kazuhiko "Fuku" Sofuku.

By Royal appointment

We are delighted to have three members of the British Royal Family visiting the Portsmouth event. The Duke of Edinburgh will visit Land Rover BAR’s Base on Friday 22nd July before heading out on the water to watch the opening day’s action. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will then join spectators to watch the action on the final day of the event, Sunday 24th July
