Merlin Rockets
The Championship season has started in earnest this weekend, and kicks off with the ever-popular Merlin Salcombe week, in fact so popular it has a waiting list!
As we go to press Simon Potts currently 2nd place competing with a full-suit of P&B sails, set on the all-conquering Paragon Mast. A lot can happen in three days but we hope he continues his success. The Merlin Nationals are just a few weeks away but we are still able to supply sails for delivery to the event, to help make sure you are on the pace.
Streakers
Rutland SC hosted the Streaker Nationals over the weekend, the three days saw plenty of wind and sunshine making for the perfect sailing conditions. Our very own Issac Marsh secured a well-deserved 2nd place in a tough championship, congratulations to multi-class champ Tom Gillard on winning the event.
As Streaker class experts we are able to offer boats from the boatyard at Beer & Butler boats, along with sails and rigs to suit a variety of helm weights.
505s
The countdown to the 505 Worlds is on, and with over 100 entries this popular class continues to thrive. Looking to the event we hope that the recent form of our teams - Andy Smith and Tim Needham, Mike Holt and Carl Smit and Ian Pinnell and Alex Davies - should enable a UK team to claim the title.
Championship Preparation
Are you prepared for the events? Have you organised and sorted your toolboxes with useful spares, polishes and rope? Are your sails looking a bit tired? There is still time to make the necessary preparation so please call our team and we will deliver what you need to the relevant event.
Don’t forget to check the notice race for unusual clauses, for example the 505s require a 10-meter tow rope and paddle to be carried during racing, nothing worse than arriving at an event and having to source items to get through measurement.
