It's now just over two weeks until the East Coast Piers Race sponsored by Zhik. We hope to see you on the weekend of the 9th and 10th July!
As per usual Marconi Sailing Club are welcoming fast dinghies and catamarans for another great weekend of long distance racing, with three different race course options on Sunday (48 miles, 27 miles or 13 miles - see more info below). 2 in river races will take place on Saturday with a briefing at midday, first race around 1pm.
FREE camping is available from 8am Friday morning until midday on Monday. With Adnams on board as one of our sponsors the bar will be fully stocked with beer at great prices. The more you drink the more we make for our chosen charities. It's a hard life....
The ECPR courses are designed to be easy to follow and safe. There are mother boats (cruisers) at every mile of the course who are there to help. If you stop to fix something you can continue racing with no penalty. We also have 10 support boats along the course ready to assist if needed.
Keep up to date with the latest information by following the event on Facebook or by liking the Facebook page. You can also follow the ECPR on Twitter.

Full ECPR - 48 miles
The full ECPR race is 48 miles in length and takes competitors from Marconi Sailing Club out of the Blackwater Estuary and up to Walton pier. The race then turns and heads back to Marconi. This one is for the big cats only.
Colne Point Race - 27 miles
The Colne Point race is open to fast dinghies and catamarans. This goes from Marconi to the Colne Gate and back again.
Bradwell Race - 13 miles
The Bradwell race was introduced for dinghies only and doesn't involve leaving the estuary. Competitors race from Marconi to Bradwell, followed by a dog leg back into the river then return to Marconi.
