Summer started on Saturday 7th May at Leigh on Sea. Eight GP14s enjoyed some excellent close racing on a warm early summer day, with a steady easterly wind.

Richard Ham crewed by Steve Browne led both of the first two races with Richard Lord and Steve Cooper taking the second and third places. I was only in the third race when Ham & Browne relaxed that Steve Cooper was able to take the pole position.

The competition for the lower places was very keen with a lot of place changing on the beats and the run.
