23-29 April 2016
With only 2 races left in the Contender Worlds 2016, it looks like time may be running out for Highcliffe's Mussell to hang onto to his World Champion title. After 2 races in Monterey Bay today it was Australia's Bulka who had up opened up 12 point lead at the top, the trophy clearly in his sights. Mussell, undeterred, put in a sterling performance shrugging off his DNF in the 6th race to come in 1st in race 8 and close the gap with Bulka back down to 9 points.
After day 4 it is Mussell sitting in 2nd place and fellow Highcliffe sailor Langdown still showing consistent top 10 form, holding his 5th place.
The last 2 races will take place tomorrow. Anything could happen.
