This year's Grand Tour will again include Gold and Silver fleets with 2 fantastic trophies up for grabs kindly donated by Synergy Marine. Last years winner's, Richard Burton and Deryck Lovegrove, will this year be going head to head as the latter picked up the Silver fleet trophy. Neither had it all their own way though, as the competition throughout the two fleets ensured that the result wasn't certain until the last event had ended.

With a slightly different format, in that the tour consists of six events with five to count, dotted around the country, the Class is keen to improve on last years excellent turnout of nearly seventy boats for the series. We have lined up some top class venues with a mixture of sea and inland racing. First up is Brightlingsea on the 21st/22nd May, then Sunderland, Weymouth, Pwllheli, Blithfield and Northampton at the beginning of November.

With this in mind, the Class is making a 2013 composite "Icebreaker" boat available for all GT events, (courtesy of Bob the Builder!), so that any newcomer who wants to try out an OK, either for one day or both, has the opportunity to sample this great singlehander and the excellent racing that is part of the class. The boat will come fully insured for racing and will be available on a "first come, first served" basis which can be booked by e-mailing the Class Vice Chairman, Dave Bourne, from the beginning of May.

Full details of fixtures and contact e-mail addresses can be found at www.okdinghy.co.uk
