Twenty-six Cadets took part in the Frensham Pond open meeting, travelling from all over England – from the North West, East Anglia and North London. We do hope that you all enjoyed the experience.

Bruce Hill the race officer (an ex Cadet) started the day off with an early briefing for all competitors.

First race saw Erin Marks from Waldringfield jumping the line early, with Anna Morgan & Jemima Hill leading from start to finish. The following pack of Issie Spiers, Jamie Harris, Amy Goult and Megan Ferguson all fighting for 2nd and 3rd places The honours going to Megan 2nd and Issie 3rd.

Second race saw Ryan Wilkinson and Eliza Jones lead from the first mark until the very last beat where Megan was second and Issie was third. Issie had a large wind shift which took her from 3rd to 1st at the second to last mark. Megan 2nd and Ryan finished 3rd.

After the lunch break the race officer had to delay the start due to the wind shifting around but once again a clean start and once again Anna Morgan lead from start to finish with Jamie Harris and Toni Wilkinson followed by Amy and Ben Goult right behind. At the finish it was Anna 1st and Jamie 2n.

Going into the final race of the day the 1st place position was between Issie and Anna, once again Issie was first round the first mark and disappeared away from the rest of the fleet with a commanding and dominant lead to win the event.

It was really nice to see Rishi and Arthur Baker from Fishers Green who only brought their cadet a week ago, and It was also a pleasure to see a Felpham cadet on the water; Alana Corbett sailed really well completing all 4 races.

Our congratulations also go to Cally Terkelson from Stone who sailed with Jake Thompson to finish a creditable 18th and to Katie Yelland and Molly Blich who won the prize for 1st placed "first ever competition" where she finished a fine 17th.

Furthest travelled boat went to Jamie and George Colquitt who travelled from West Kirby Big congratulations to Issie and Emily Speirs who won the event followed by Anna Morgan and Jemima Hill. Megan Ferguson and Yasmin Sfaxi 3rd and Jamie Harris and Toni Wilkinson 4th Thank you to Megan for her excellent report. As a visitor to Frensham Pond I would like to add a massive thank you to the club for their hospitality and excellent racing. It is an amazing club with the friendliest, warmest atmosphere, and a championship board for everyone to aspire to. I would also like to add a huge thank-you to the Cadet Class captains and galley for thinking of everything from spot prizes to hot dogs.
