On Saturday, East Lothian Yacht Club held their 'Lifeboat Pennant' start of season dinghy race.

Although East Lothian Yacht Club hold dinghy racing almost every week of the year, the 'Lifeboat Pennant' is generally accepted as the start of the main Summer season.

22 Dinghies took part, sailing in a gentle easterly breeze. They were closely bunched at the start line, just off North Berwick Harbour.

The racing was very close, with the winners Jim Sinclair (from Longniddry) and his crew Ben Wilcox (from North Berwick) sailing their RS400, winning by a margin of only 2 seconds on corrected time, from Donald MacLean (from Edinburgh) in his Phantom dinghy.

In third place, only 49 seconds after the winners was Mike Alexander (from Haddington) in his K1.
