Although this was a rearranged event, attendance was good with competitors travelling from Hamble and as far as Derbyshire. Fourteen Solos took part and a smaller but enthusiastic fleet of Comets.

A fine day saw a cold north easterly breeze that caused a few upsets in the early stages but moderated by the afternoon. Three races were sailed by both classes and in the Solos a tight competition developed between the eventual winner James Ross from Hamble and Frensham's Bryan Taylor. So James with a first and a second took the trophy from Bryan with a first and a third. It was as close as that.

The Comets were dominated by the furthest travelled competitor; Eddie Pope from Ogston SC. Second place went to Henry Jaggers from Beer SC.

Race Officer on the day, Clive Eplett did the honours during the traditional free tea and presented the two trophies. Frensham was grateful to all the visitors who had travelled to what was a rearranged event.

Overall Results:

Solo fleet 1st James Ross (Hamble River SC)
2nd Bryan Taylor (Frensham))
3rd Ian Campbell)
4th Simon Lomas-Clarke

Comet fleet)
1st Eddie Pope (Cogston SC))
2nd Henry Jaggers (Beer SC)

Frensham Frenzy 2024
Even light winds at Frensham fry brains I don't think you could say that this year's Frensham Frenzy was frenzied, but even light winds at Frensham fry brains. The forecast wasn't looking good but in true Frensham style everyone rigged and chose their boats for the conditions. Posted on 4 Mar

Forecast may have kept some away from NSCA Southern Area Series event The weather forecast of very light to non-existent winds from an indeterminate direction may have been a factor in reducing the number of visitors but 16 sailors from the home fleet enjoyed pleasant sunny and warm conditions.
