The traditional start to the dinghy sailing season in the UK is always signalled by the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show at Alexandra Palace. You won't find a more vibrant boat show anywhere in the world, packed full of grass roots sailors.

Over the course of the weekend around 10,000 visitors will look at all that is new (and old) in the dinghy sailing world; everything from the latest high tech International 14 to clinker Redwings is proudly presented by the enthusiastic class association members, all hoping to lift the coveted Concours d'Elegance Trophy for boat of the show.

Increasingly the marine industry uses the Dinghy Show to launch their latest products; Zhik's signature Robert Scheidt Hikers, Allen Brothers DryLube and the 'Built by P&B' range are just some of these.

We'll be talking to many of the UK's top sailors including Tom Gillard, Christian Birrell, Nick Craig, Steve Cockerill, Hannah Mills, Saskia Clark and skiff legend Julian Bethwaite over the course of the weekend and will bring you their news, views and insights into what they have in store for 2016 via video and interviews.

A fair number of Olympic sailing stars attend, some in an official capacity with their sponsors and some just to enjoy the greatest boat show on earth.
