RS Tera Eastern Squad welcomes the New Year
After the frustrating weather of the autumn, the RS Tera Eastern Squad were out in full force at Alton Water for the start of our Spring training programme on Saturday 9th January. Alton Water has been our winter home for the past 4 years and provides a great base for training on Saturday afternoons and the opportunity to compete in the very popular club frostbite series on Sunday mornings.
With the wind forecast looking good the coaches decided to concentrate on mark rounding. They took us over to the left of the reservoir (away from the Optimist Zone Squad) and set up a simple windward leeward course to start off the new year. With the wind picking up, some of the younger sports in Rob and Sam's group went off to do some reaching just to have fun and try to minimize the amount of capsizes. The majority of us that were left started to do some racing with pros and sports altogether.
The coaches did really well managing everyone even though one the ribs did break down! On Sunday it was good to compete with our ex-Tera friends who are now sailing Fevas, Aeros, 200s and 29ers in the Frostbite series. For more information about the RS Tera Eastern Squad contact
