Growth and progress for Rondar Boats

by Rondar Raceboats 5 Jan 2016 10:44 GMT 5 January 2016
Rondar Raceboats have had one of their busiest seasons to date, with a great deal of growth and positive progress.

VIPER 640

Following extensive trials in the USA, the Gulf Yachting Association (a group of 20 plus US Gulf-based clubs) have chosen the Viper 640 as their new club boat for the future, replacing the previous "Flying Scot". This, together with a very active US sailing programme, has increased demand for the boat throughout the USA and Rondar are now in full production.

In addition to the UK 2016 sailing programme, there is a great international regatta programme planned for 2016:

MIAMI USA: Miami Sailing Week 6-12 March 2016 | website

CORK, IRELAND: Cork Week 10-15th July 2016 | website
Please let us know if you provisionally plan to go to this great regatta. Make a note of it in your diary now!
BERMUDA: Viper North American Championships - Bermuda, 13-19 November | website
There has also been considerable interest in chartering boats for the Bermuda event in November 2016. Call us for more details!

INTERNATIONAL SONAR CLASS

Rondar are the new builders of this great performance racing keelboat. It's already popular for club fleet boats and has been selected by ISAF as the Paralympic boat of choice for many years.

Rondar have just completed delivery of eight boats for the New York Yacht Club, USA, and are now working on a further order for thirteen more for another club. The orders have been received so far from private clients, although the new Rondar version has not yet been "officially" launched... watch this space!

SQUIB CLASS

Following development of a completely new interior design, the new Rondar trial boat is now on the water and sailing. The hull form is unchanged, but the new interior offers self draining and a more ergonomic layout. The new Squib will be on the water and on trials with the class during the winter months.

ANOTHER YEAR OF GREAT RESULTS

505

You can't expect to keep winning... or can you? Rondar's new 505 build has won the Worlds this year for the 18th time in succession. And with the 2016 Worlds programmed for Weymouth there could be a great turnout. It's still not too late to get the super new jul-deck design!

Solo

Yet another National Championship win in 2015!

Fireball

The new Weathermark Fireball made a superb start by finishing 2nd "straight out the can", also winning four races at the championships. Contact Weathermark for details.

Firefly

The class hosted the ISAF Team Racing Worlds this year with a number of new Rondar boats loaned for the finals. 2016 also marks the 70th year of this great all round class. To celebrate this amazing milestone Rondar is donating a boat to the class, which in due course will be raffled by them. Keep an eye on their website for more details.

Lots of interesting team race tactics can be viewed here.

OLYMPIC CLASS PROJECT

Rondar have completed a new confidential Olympic Class build project during the year. More details out early next year.
