Registration is now open for the Sea Cadets Regatta 2016

by Marion Telsnig 24 Oct 2015 13:31 BST 6 May 2016

Join the Sea Cadets in their 19th regatta on Friday, 6 May 2016 in Portsmouth to raise vital funds for the charity. It's perfect for a team of professional and amateur sailors, corporate days, and team building activities for businesses.

Organised by Sunsail Events, the Sea Cadets Regatta 2016 promises to be a fantastic race experience. Guests do not need to have any sailing knowledge to join the regatta, and each yacht can cater for seven to 10 people.

The entry fee includes a skipper and a first mate, free accommodation on the yacht the night before, breakfast, lunch on-board Sunsail's popular Match First 40s and refreshments, deluxe afternoon tea, wet weather gear and prizes and trophies for the winners, all for £3,000 per yacht. Upgrade your experience to include a luxurious Pimms reception and BBQ the night before the race for £49 per person.

All the money raised from the Sea Cadet Regatta will go towards supporting young people to get out on the water, learning how to sail, kayak, canoe and row. As a national youth charity working with 14,000 young people in 400 communities, 45% of which are in economically challenged areas, Sea Cadets understand the importance for young people to find confidence and inspiration, helping them to develop self-belief and valuable life skills. We believe what Sea Cadets offers young people, nautical adventure and challenge in a positive environment, makes a positive difference to their life chances.

Michael Hlavaty, Sunsail Events account manager: "As a former Sea Cadet myself, it's a great pleasure to be appointed as the event charter partner for this regatta, which sees funds raised for a fantastic cause. Not only will the guests be able to enjoy exhilarating racing onboard our Match First 40's fleet, but see the regatta take a new one day format."

To book your yacht on the Sea Cadets Regatta, please contact or call 02392 222 221.
