International Canoe UK Nationals at Stone Sailing Club - Day 3

by Gareth Caldwell 5 Sep 2015 22:02 BST 3-6 September 2015

Day three dawned with a gusty F4 greeting the competitors from a chilly northern direction.

By the time the first of the two races started the wind had dropped to F3, and from a direction across the water and off the land.

The strength and direction proved to be challenging throughout the day, with big holes and wind shifts to catch those not concentrating.

Al Warren made a nonsense of these challenging conditions and sailed away into a lead that was not to be challenged, in spite of Phil Robin's best efforts. Phil Allen sorted out the AC fleet in much the same way.

The second race of the day started after a delay waiting for the wind to settle. Robin Wood led home the ICs, and Phil Allen the ACs.
