The event promised to be big again and, with 206 entries across 12 fleets, the Crewsaver Abersoch Dinghy Week 2015 was certainly an event not to be missed.

The largest fleets were the Solos (34 boats), Laser Radials (25), RS200s (21) and the intriguingly named TTMFO (Toppers, Teras, Mirrors, Fevas and "Other") – but all fleets enjoyed double figure entries and competitive racing. As in 2014, a smaller course with committee boat starts was arranged for the Optimist fleet, giving the youngsters the opportunity to enjoy the competitive side to sailing.

The weather was mixed all week which enabled the competitors to sail every day bar one, due to too much breeze, and the beachcombers to top up their sun tans.

The social program was headlined by Dinghy Week's favourite band Elephant Juice, who played twice in the week much to the enjoyment of all who came along and danced the nights away.

The event concluded with a successful prize giving. Lots of sailors were lucky enough to win fantastic products from the Crewsaver Dinghy Range and GJW presented the "Adversity Award" to a well deserving member of the safety team, Eddie Fletcher-Brewer, for his tireless efforts on the water all week.

Crewsaver Abersoch Dinghy Week Principle Race Officer (and SCYC's Commodore) Pete Richards said, "I am amazed at the number of entries with competitors coming from as near as Pwllheli and as far as the south coast. I would like to thank everyone for making it such a great event."

With this in mind jot the 2016 date in your calendar: Registration, 23rd July 2016 Sailing, 24th – 29th July 2016.
