P&B WINNING SAILS

As the Championship season is currently in full flow it is an obvious choice to highlight the P&B results both here in the UK and across Europe for this weeks P&B news.
Finishing last week in almost biblical weather conditions was the most competitive Scorpion national championships for many years and as the results show P&B’s long standing relationship with this class continues to bear fruit.

Long term P&B sailors Andy Mckee and Chris Massey (after a few years of ‘almost but not quites’ )  took the UK championship with a consistent set of results across the wind ranges. In 2014 P&B also took on the build of the Scorpion dinghy and this year was the first time the P&B hull was at the nationals proving its speed to take second overall.

Andy Mckee followed up this title success by travelling straight over to France where the F15 World championships and the pre-world and French national championships began almost immediately.

Historically a strong fleet for Pinnell & Bax with a clean sweep of the UK championship podium in 2014 and back to back World championship success in 2013 and 2014.
The combined French nationals and pre worlds reports prove that P&B are very much still the force, Graham Vials and Chris Turner taking the overall title with the familiar name of Andy Mckee crewed by Rich Jones 2nd overall.

Fingers crossed for the World championships next week.
The Mirror class was another success story for P&B in 2014 when P&B sails were fortunate enough to have a clean sweep of the Nationals, Europeans and World championships and followed this up with World championship success early in 2015. At the time of going to press P&B race team member Dave Wade and rising star Imogen Wade are leading overall with Eleanor Keers and Izzy Pugh sailing with a full inventory of P&B sails breathing down their neck in 2nd. These pairings have clear daylight between themselves and the rest of the fleet with a final day showdown happening as this is being written.

So with the Mirrors due to complete today and the F15 and Fireball world championships in full flow next week alongside the N12 championships and the Merlin Rocket’s also having their UK championships it will be another busy week for the P&B race teams.
