Lorenzo Chiavarini to attend Scottish Club Trophy at Loch Lomond

by Claire Caffrey 2 Aug 2015 11:58 BST 22 August 2015

The RYA Scotland team are excited to announce that GB Team sailor Lorenzo Chiavarini will be attending this year's Scottish Club Trophy event at Loch Lomond Sailing Club this summer, Saturday 22 August 2015.

The event is perfect for young sailors under the age of 16 who are just starting to learn to race and are keen to learn more in a fun environment with some of the country's top coaches. Lorenzo will be on hand all day to answer questions and help the young sailors get the most from their experience at the events. Helping out with the coaching sessions during the morning, watching the racing action in the afternoon and then presenting the prizes at the end of the day, Lorenzo will be around to talk about his own racing experiences as a youngster and also about his latest sailing achievements as well as giving some useful hints and tips for the event.

Arriving back from a training camp in Rio just in time to join in the fun at Loch Lomond Sailing Club, Lorenzo has had an extremely busy season travelling all over the world for the sport he loves with the best sailors in the world. Who better to give some inspiration for everyone new to racing? After finishing 10th at the Laser World Championships just last month, Lorenzo is right at the top of his game.

Entries for the event are open at the moment on the RYA Scotland website – www.ryascotland.org.uk - and will be closing on 10 August 2015 so there is no time to hang around. The more clubs and young sailors taking part in the event the more fun it will be so make sure to encourage as many people as possible to come along.

There will be lots of fun prizes up for grabs which will be presented at the end of the day as well as event t-shirts you can purchase to show that you were there and took part. All proceeds from the sales of the t-shirts will go to the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation so you will be supporting a great cause too.
