With a record turnout of 44 boats, Bosham Sailing Club hosted its annual Senior Week for members over the age of 21 years.

Six classes competed: the Classic Day Boats: fast, medium and slow; and the Club (non classic dinghies) fast, medium and slow with two races each day.

On Wednesday the wind was a steady force 3 from the south-west and on Thursday a force 2 prevailed from the north-west giving the competitors varied courses on each of the four series races.

On Friday, the wind went back to the south-west and the stronger force 4 was ideal for the pursuit race followed by a long harbour race, with the fast fleets going as far as the Emsworth channel.

Winners of the Club fast, medium and slow handicap fleet were Mark Stanton (Finn), Fiona McFarlane (Laser Radial) and Izzie Lee (Chicester Scow) respectively, and in the Classic Dayboat fast, medium and slow fleets Robert Bailey and Gordon Currey (National 18), Paul Dewing and Katie Prentice (Yachting World Dayboat) and Michael Young (Tideway).

Stride & Sons, chartered surveyors, estate agents, auctioneers and valuers, kindly sponsored the pursuit race and the other prizes, with Jono Prosser organising a mind-challenging quiz.
